This pair of unused Madeira pillowcases dates from the 1930's. They are adorned with skillfully embroidered basket of flowers with open work, small seed stitches and finished off with a skillfully made scalloped edge. They are embellished with open/cut work, and a fine blue Satin and Button hole stitches. The floral motifs and flower basket adds a feminine touch. Each case measures 21" in width by 35" in length. They are reminiscent of a very grand and regal period in linens. Fine handwork and quality thread make for a true work of art! These cases are just lovely! In excellent condition, never used but washed and ready to use. Would make a great wedding gift, would look lovely on your bed, or would make a great addition to your linen collection.
