Magnificent Museum Quality 18th century Mechlin Lace Jabot, this piece was made from a pair of early eighteen century Lappets of extraordinary fineness obviously for a very wealthy woman, it measures approx 9.5" long with each side 3" wide, it has a few storage spots from centuries of storage, but overall in excellent condition, it has a small piece of fabric hand stitched at the back so that it could be attached to a garment. I have had this piece authenticated by a Lace expert and verified that it is indeed 18th century early Mechlin lace, I cannot tell you if it is one piece or 2 without removing the bow- so that mystery will be left to its new owner. This is indeed a very exquisite piece of Lace and any Lace Collector would be happy to have it in his or hers collection.
